The history of the wedding dress

The history of the wedding dress

Wedding dress is the most important outfit for women all over the world. Because all women dream of looking beautiful and wearing that white wedding dress on their wedding day.

Fashion designers from all over the world make brides' dreams come true with the most popular designs to delight brides and their changing styles and tastes.

A wedding dress does not necessarily have to be white. Its history goes back to the middle ages when brides wore their best to represent innocence, elegance.

Of course, many years ago, the bride was expected to wear expensive fabrics such as velvet and fur, especially if she came from a wealthy family.

Although brides chose white to symbolize purity of spirit, white didn't become popular until the 1840s.

Before white, the colors of the wedding dresses were different, until Queen Victoria wore a white wedding dress when she married Albert of Saxe-Coburg. In those days, white was the symbol of wealth and blue was the symbol of purity. But Queen Victoria broke these traditions by donning a white dress on the day she wore it.

In the 1930s, wedding dress fashion took a different stance.

Women began to wear dresses that emphasized female figures. Bridal gowns with oversized ruffled sleeves were mostly floor-length, with long sleeves and mostly high collars.

Most wedding dresses were made of satin, but in the early 1930s lace wedding gowns were also worn.
